A member of the 2-1-1 San Diego staff explains to Aviation Electronics Technician 1st Class Luis Rodriguez from Alice, Texas, and assigned to Helicpter Maritime Strike Squadron 71, how the non-profit organization goes further than a simple referral service by walking them through all processes of potential resources. Rodriguez toured the 2-1-1 Call Center April 9, 2014, during a tour with The Foundry program. The Foundry is a week-long mentorship program aboard USS Midway in San Diego designed to partner first class petty officers with senior enlisted Sailors, retirees and civilian leaders to build and strengthen future Navy leaders.
