Lt. Col. Randall Collins, aero medical/dental flight commander assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group, changes the trail lenses on the phoropter to determine the eye glasses and contact prescription of Airman 1st Class Jakara Simmons, medical technician assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Medical Group, Oct. 14, 2008 at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. The optometry members are responsible for ensuring vision readiness which ensures all members here are mission ready. Lt. Col. Collins, a native of Lakeview, Ore., is deployed from Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and Airman Simmons, a native of Charleston, S.C., is deployed from Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
