    Col. James M. Gannon, 1st Marine Logistics Group operations officer, assists in the cake cutting ceremony for the 233rd Navy birthday celebration, Oct. 13, 2008. Gannon, from Shaker Heights, Ohio, was the guest of honor for the celebration and helped cut the cake for the oldest and youngest Sailors present at the ceremony. Cmdr. Bill Haggerson, 65, from Kalamazoo, Mich., and the chief of professional services for Camp Taqaddum Surgical, 1st Maintenance Battalion and Seaman Apprentice Alexander C. Bilous, 19, from Odessa, Ukraine and a field medical technician with TQ Surgical, proudly represented their Sailors and took the first bites from the ceremonial cake.
