Boatswain's Mate 2nd Class William Steddum from New Orleans rides on a Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat during a man-overboard/search and rescue drill aboard the multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) March 28. Bataan is the flagship for the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
