Marines provide cover fire during platoon-mechanized raid training March 26 at Su Seong-Ri Range in Republic of Korea during exercise Ssang Yong 14. Ssang Yong demonstrates the Navy/Marine Corps’ responsive amphibious and expeditionary capabilities from the sea. Forward-deployed and forward-based Marine forces, in conjunction with U.S. allies, have the unique ability to provide rapid force deployment for the full range of military operations, specifically in the Pacific region. The Marines are with Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, currently assigned to 4th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
