2nd Lt. Shaneka Shaw, an Officer Selection Assistant, evaluates an officer candidate's leadership skills during the Leadership Reactions Course, March 22, 2014. Shaw helped run a three-day Mini-Officer Candidates School here for more than 400 officer candidates from across the Southeastern United States. During the course, individual candidates were evaluated on their problem solving skills and their ability to lead their fellow candidates through various obstacles. Many of the officer candidates that attended the course here will attend the real Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Va., where they will endure ten weeks of grueling training and evaluation to determine their fitness to lead Marines as Marine officers.
