The purpose of the meeting was to foster a positive relationship with the Lee and discuss possible community relations events for Marines to take part in during the exercise. “The meeting went well and a positive relationship was fostered with the mayor, his staff and other key officials,” said Sellers is the Arrival, Assembly, and Operations Group S-4 exercise officer for Freedom Banner 14 and civil affairs officer with G-3, Civil Affairs Detachment, III Marine Expeditionary Force Command Element. “We answered questions the Mayor had regarding exercise Freedom Banner, discussed our presence at the port over the next two months and had the opportunity to discuss possible community relationship events in and around his city.” Lee is the mayor of Gwangyang City.
