    The amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) conducts a replenishment-at-sea with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Lenthall (T-AO 189) as the amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) and the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) approach from a distance. Mesa Verde Sailors and Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU) are deployed supporting maritime security operations, providing crisis response capability, increasing theater security cooperation and providing a forward naval presence in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
