Rear Adm. David F. Steindl, commander, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), answers questions from freshmen Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen at the Naval Station Great Lakes Marina during their annual 10-day freshmen orientation, Aug. 15. The midshipmen are part of the Chicago Consortium of NROTC midshipmen from Northwestern University, University of Illinois in Chicago, Illinois Institute of Technology and Loyola University. Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), headquartered at Naval Station Great Lakes, oversees 98 percent of initial officer and enlisted accessions training for the Navy.
