Christian Martinez, an intelligence specialist with Black Sea Rotational Force-14.2 and native of Lakewood, Calif., March 10 on Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base. “You’re always looking for ways to improve your foxhole, to improve efficiency and improve the quality of life for the personnel you’re supporting,” said Capt. Matt Garvin, the 16th Special Troops Battalion operations officer. “We identified some gaps and some places we could make a difference. As a fellow finance professional, it was rewarding to witness the impact our capabilities had on the operation. I think we’ve done everything well to facilitate mission success as well as help improve quality of life for our personnel.”
