Pfc. Timothy Krupinski, a cook in 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, pours hot chili into a container, March 4, as he helps to prepare lunch at the Gibson Dining Facility. Krupinski, of Honolulu, and nearly 30 other soldiers in the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, spent much of the day being evaluated by Joint Culinary Center of Excellence inspectors during the 46th Annual Philip A. Connelly Competition. Currently, the 3rd ABCT's dining facility, Gibson DFAC, is one of six remaining DFACs remaining in the Army-wide competition for best garrison DFAC. The evaluators described the competition as "the Super Bowl" of food services, and said each soldier should be proud of themselves for being one of the top six DFACs in the Department of the Army.
