All three service members graduated from Grove City Area High School before earning commissions in their respective branch of service. Uber is a flight surgeon with Marine Attack Squadron 542; Batz is the wing surgeon for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing; and Sauerland is the executive officer for Marine Aircraft Group 14.
