Jonathan Bley, a native of Buffalo, N.Y., now the musician placement director for the 1st Marine Corps District, speaks to students during a clinic March 4 at Western Connecticut University. The Marine Corps Jazz Ensemble is a group of musicians hand-picked by Bley to promote the Corps’ Musician Enlistment Option Program at several high schools and universities in the Greater New York City and Boston areas with exceptional music programs.
