Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) midshipmen compete in a Warrior Challenge at the 27th annual Military Excellence Competition (MEC) on The College of The Holy Cross campus here, Sept. 28. The Warrior Challenge Race was the grueling highlight of the MEC. Only about 3.5-miles around the campus, the grueling part were the many hills the midshipmen and cadets had to climb and how challenging, physical and exhausting each of the seven stations were the two-man and women teams had to endure. The midshipmen and cadet teams had to perform calisthenics at one station, perform fireman carries and buddy drags at another, climb the bleachers at the Holy Cross Crusaders football stadium, haul a 50-pound ammunition container up and down a hill four times and carry a 40-pound backpack up the very steep College Street hill that climbs past the colleges main gate.
