Rct. Devon Ayerdis, Platoon 1009, Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, crosses the finish line during his combat fitness test Feb. 11, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. The CFT consists of three timed events, each simulating different physical aspects of combat while measuring fitness. This test is one the recruits will take annually if they become Marines.
