Capt. Matthew Jordan, Headquarter and Headquarter Company Commander, 130th Engineer Brigade, places a tourniquet on himself during a medical training refresher course at New Kabul Compound, Jan. 30. The soldiers in the company learned to apply basic “self-aid” to themselves if they are capable, as they may have to wait for others to get to them. The unit recently went over training on basic skills after reaching their halfway mark in their nine-month deployment to Afghanistan, to ensure soldiers were staying vigilant and prepared.
