Unusually low temperatures and an overnight snowfall resulted in Fort Jackson, S.C., being closed for the day of Jan. 29, giving residents an opportunity to enjoy a "snow day." Most offices were advised the evening before that the post would be closed on Wednesday. These footprints on Lee Road near clothing and sales are the only evidence that any people are moving about.
