J.R. Martinez, a soldier who was wounded in 2003 by an improvised explosive device in Iraq, gets attacked by a military working dog named Duck during a K-9 demonstration at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, Jan. 29, 2014. Martinez, who sustained burns to more than 34 percent of his body, discussed his story and how he overcome hardships in his life with the men and women currently deployed to AUAB. Today Martinez is a motivational speaker, actor and works with wounded warriors and burn-survivor victims to help them recover from their external and internal wounds.
