Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville, Fla., commander Capt. Tom Allan (right) presented awards during a ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014 to Wayne Mechtel, Victor Guzman, Christopher Kirk and New Smyrna Beach Mayor Adam Barringer for saving the life of Suzanne Grims after a vehicle accident sent her car into the Indian River Jan. 6, 2010. The men were near the site of the accident when it occurred and immediately jumped into the river to rescue Grims as her car sank in the river.
