All these years later, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic ‘I Have a Dream’ speech still resonates with Americans from all walks of life. U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael Acord, deputy commander, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Task Force Patriot, says “when I think of Dr. Martin Luther King and I think of the dream what I think about is how when you believe there is injustice in society, you not only have the right to stand up, you have the responsibility to stand up and through peaceful means, find a way to communicate to your government. So when I think of that, I think of that solemn responsibility to communicate to a government what’s right and what’s wrong.” (U.S. Army Photo by Sgt. Eric Provost, Task Force Patriot PAO)
