David Wetzel, Athletic Coordinator and Football Head Coach for Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas, was presented the United States Marine Corps Semper Fi Coach Award at Reagan High School, Jan. 8, 2014. Maj. Matthew H. Peterson, Commanding Officer for Marine Corps Recruiting Station San Antonio and Sgt. Oneil J. Annkin, canvassing recruiter with Recruiting Substation Ingram, presented the award to Wetzel at their faculty meeting. Wetzel received the award for exemplifying the Marine Corps motto: Semper Fidelis and modeling the Marine Corps Leadership values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. During his tenure as Head Coach Wetzel has lead his team to the first winning season in school history, their first District Championship and 26-5A Championships in 2008, 2009, 2011.
