Northern Pakistan (Oct. 17, 2005) ---
Injured Pakistani citizens sit on the floor of an MH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter while being evacuated to Islamabad, Pakistan, where they can be treated for their injuries. Two MH-53 helicopters from the Helicopter Mine Countermeasure Squadron 15 (HM-15) Bahrain detachment made the three day flight to northern Pakistan to assist in the relief efforts in progress. The U.S. government is participating in a multinational humanitarian assistance and support effort lead by the Pakistani government to bring aid to victims of the devastating earthquake that struck the region Oct 8, 2005.
