President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama speak to active duty service members on Christmas Day during a visit to the Anderson Hall Dining Facility aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 25, 2013. The president said, "Michelle and I know that we would not enjoy the freedoms we do if it weren't for the incredible dedication and professionalism and work that you do," adding that "the least we can do is just let you all know we're grateful to you." The president ended his speech wishing service members "mele kalikimaka," which means 'Merry Christmas' in Hawaiian. After his speech, the president and first lady posed for photographs with service members. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Matthew Bragg)
