A larne target spar is towed behind the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. The Larne target is dragged 2,000 to 3,000 ft. behind the Ronald Reagan so aircraft can practice bombing or strafing runs. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
