Marines with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, provide suppressing fire during a mechanized raid in support of Exercise Steel Knight 2014 at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., Dec. 13, 2013. The battalion played a vital role in the ground combat element during the assault which prepared them for their upcoming deployment to Australia. Steel Knight is an annual exercise that includes elements from the entire I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF).
