Perez, an animal care specialist with the 109th Veterinary Detachment from Garden Grove, Calif., is providing services in remote locations to under-served populations in northern part of Alaska as well as teaching local students about veterinary care. Arctic Care is a multi-service humanitarian and training program focusing on enhancing the interoperability and capacity of U.S. forces in peacetime support operations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
