Holding a completed checklist, Coast Guard inspector David Borg successfully completes a full safety exam on the gold dredge Ophir and hands a voluntary dredge safety check decal to the owner and operator of the vessel. With a modern day gold rush booming in the waters off of Nome, Coast Guard inspectors conducted several months of informational outreach, which culminated in providing the voluntary safety inspections.
