Iraqi army Capt. Rahim Masin, a platoon commander with 3rd Battalion, 29th Iraqi Army Brigade, converses with a Rutbah, Iraq, citizen at a vehicle check point in western al-Anbar province, Iraq, Aug. 24, 2008. This was the soldiers first night mission in their new battlespace as they assist coalition forces and Iraqi police against insurgent activities and oil smuggling. The battalion recently assumed control of an area in western al-Anbar province near Rutbah from 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5.
