George Washington is transiting off the coast of Southern California conducting combat operations efficiency evaluation with Carrier Air Wing 5. George Washington is en route to Yokosuka, Japan, where the ship will replace the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk as the Navy's only forward deployed aircraft carrier.
