A GOES-12 infrared satellite image provided by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, Monterey, Calif., showing the status of Tropical Storm Gustav at approximately 7 a.m. EST. Gustav is a tropical storm on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale, with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph and higher gusts. The storm is currently in the Carribbean Sea, with its track taking it across the western tip of Cuba into the Gulf of Mexico and making landfall somewhere on the U.S. Gulf Coast by Monday morning.
