Staff Sgt. Jonathan Arnold (foreground) and Staff Sgt. Clyde Hunt tighten nuts down on bolts to hold a new tower in place Aug. 26, 2008, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Both sergeants are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron and are part of a team exchanging aging towers with a sturdier replacement that should last nearly twice as long. The Giant Voice system is used to communicate important information to all base populace instantaneously. Sgt. Hunt, a native of Shreveport, La., is deployed from the Louisiana Air National Guard, and Sgt. Arnold, a native of Muncie, Ind., is deployed from the Fort Wayne Air National Guard, Ind. Both are deployed in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
