MADISON, Conn. - Capt. Steven Pope, from the Coast Guard's Atlantic Area, tells stories of the Revenue Cutter Service and its captains, including Madison's own Frederick Lee, at the Memorial Town Hall, Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012. The talk was given as part of the Frederick Lee Lectures, which commemorate the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, presented by the Madison Historical Society of Madison, Conn. Lee was the captain of the Revenue Cutter Eagle and is most well-known for the defense of the cutter against the attack of the British brig HMS Dispatch during the War of 1812.
