Master Chief Petty Officers Leilani Cale-Jones and Charles "Rob" Bushey pose with members of Coast Guard Station Monterey during a familiarization visit Jan. 13, 2012. Cale-Jones is the Pacific Area Command Master Chief and Bushey is the 11th District Command Master Chief. During this visit, Cale-Jones and Bushey met with all of the crew for a Q-and-A session and were briefed on the station's operations, missions and personnel status. Command master chiefs are typically the most senior enlisted, experienced and highly-trusted leaders in the Coast Guard who serve as command advisers. They function to monitor the 'pulse' of personnel-related matters while helping to develop strategy, policy and management guidance to address organizational challenges.
