Petty Officer 1st Class Mike Charboneau, assigned to the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy, examines a patient's eyes in a clinic at Sapwalap Elementary School in Pohnpei. Charboneau, a trained optician, is a part of a 26-personnel advanced medical team conducting MEDCAPs in the states of Pohnpei and Yap in the Federated States of Micronesia to support Pacific Partnership. Mercy is the primary platform for Pacific Partnership 2008, a humanitarian mission dedicated to providing medical and dental assistance programs in cooperation with host nations throughout the Asian Pacific region.
