MIAMI -- Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class (OS1) Ippolito Hilton gathers information to form a plan of action for a developing search and rescue case Oct. 17, 2007, while on duty as the assistant search and rescue duty officer in the Coast Guard's Seventh District Command Center. Hilton stands 12-hour watches in the command center in a watch rotation and is often the life-line between mariners in distress and responding search and rescue assets.
