ARABIAN GULF (Jan. 4, 2004)--Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Jeff Picinich, 31, stands watch as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Adak maintains a security patrol around an offshore Iraqi oil terminal. The Coast Guard has deployed four 110-foot patrol boats to the region to support U.S. Navy 5th Fleet and coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Maritime Interception Operations to stop illegal oil smuggling and to search for terrorists.
