ARABIAN GULF (Dec. 17, 2003)--Seaman Stanley Shiver, 20, from Grinnell, Iowa, raises the American flag aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Baranof while on patrol. The Coast Guard has deployed four 110-foot patrol boats to the region to support U.S. Navy 5th Fleet and coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Maritime Interception Operations searching for terrorists and smugglers.
