KODIAK, Alaska - The 358-foot STS Pallada, a Russian frigate used for training cadets, approaches the Kodiak city dock July 20, 2011. The Pallada's crew is visiting Kodiak in celebration of the 270th anniversary of Russian discovery of Alaska and the 50th anniversary of Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's journey into space.
