A food service specialist with Food Service Company, Combat Logistics Regiment 27, 2nd Marine Logistics Group carries cooking supplies to be cleaned during the Maj. Gen. W.P.T. Hill Field Mess Competition aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Dec. 11, 2013. The W.P.T. Hill Award was established in 1985 to improve food service operation and recognize the best field and garrison messes in the Marine Corps. Competitors are judged on areas such as operations, sanitation, taste and quality of food.
