Leavitt toured Ninth Coast Guard District units the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 1 as part of his first official visit since assuming the duties of the 11th master chief petty officer of the Coast Guard in May.
As the senior enlisted advisor to the commandant of the Coast Guard, Leavitt advises him on enlisted workforce policies, advocates for military benefits and entitlements, and serves as the senior enlisted mentor and the carries out select enlisted administrative actions.
