State Adj. Gen. Abner C. Blalock congratulates retired Col. Alton R. Barnes, his wife Mary Joe (right) and daughter Nancy Lacey (left), at a special dedication ceremony Saturday. Barnes was honored with a commemorative monument that stands outside the Alabama Military Academy's Headquarters building. Barnes was the Founder and Commandant from 1957 to 1977 of AMA.
