Chief Warrant Officer 5 Michael Reese (right), the brigade standardization instructor pilot for the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, describes his experiences with air/ground integration in Iraq to Col. Tobin Green, the commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cav. Div., while Col. Douglas Gabram, commander of 1st ACB, and Lt. Col. Randall Haws, commander of 4th Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st ACB, listen in. Green, a Sioux Falls, S.D., native, will fly in the front seat of an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter while Reese pilots it from the back seat, at Grey Army Air Field, Fort Hood, Texas. This is all part of Gabram's mission to get ground commanders up in the air in an effort to improve air/ground integration.
