KODIAK, Alaska - Information Systems Technician 1st Class Stephen Hurd and more than 20 personnel from Electronic Support Unit Kodiak remove marine debris from the beach on Kodiak Island during a unit Earth Day marine debris removal event April 22, 2010.
The crew, who usually spend the day troubleshooting computer and telephone problems, collected several hundred pounds of plastics, net, line and metal scraps from Kodiak beaches.
