    STRAIT OF GEORGIA - Rear Adm. Gary Blore, Thirteenth Coast Guard District Commander, presents a plaque to Capt. Matthew Miller, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Cutter Midgett, and Lt. John Christensen, Commanding Officer of Coast Guard Cutter Long Island during a visit aboard the Midgett here, March 1, 2010.

    Blore awarded Miller and Christensen with the plaques to thank them and their crews for the work done during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. The Coast Guard worked with the U.S. Navy, Canadian Navy and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police as part of a cross-boarder information sharing and law enforcement operation titled Operation PODIUM.
