KODIAK, Alaska - Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Gerent, aviation survival technician with Air Station Kodiak and resident of Gainesville, Fla., assists Chad Smith after an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced Smith from the 150-foot fishing vessel Alaskan Leader Feb. 4, 2010, 265 miles northwest of St. Paul Island.
