    PORT ANGELES, Wash. - Crew members from the Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Provo Wallis and the Canadian Coast Guard Hovercraft Siyay work a buoy aboard the Siyay during exercise Pacific Unity 2009, Aug. 25, 2009. The event is a coordinated North Pacific Coast Guard Forum exercise that is focused on demonstrating the abilities of partner nations to provide maritime assistance during a simulated disaster occurring in the Pacific Northwest. Canada, Japan, Russia, and the United States sent ships to take part in the event, while two members of the forum, China and South Korea, will participate as observers. The partner nations will be coordinating simulated search and rescue, aids to navigation, law enforcement and security operations during the three day event.
