A Coast Guard avionics electrical technician (AET)-the Coast Guard's "aircraft surgeons"-pauses briefly while working on an HH-65A Dolphin helicopter. AETs inspect, service, repair and maintain avionics systems that perform communications, navigation, collision avoidance, target acquisition, and automatic flight-control functions. In addition to Dolphin helicopters, AETs work on Jayhawk helicopters and fixed wing assets such as HH-25 Falcon jets and C-130 Hercules.
