(August 12, 2008) BODEGA BAY, Calif. - Petty Officer 2nd Class Darren Keith, a 47-foot motor lifeboat coxswain here, radios his location and intentions to the station during a familiarization cruise for Rear Adm. Paul F. Zukunft, the District 11 commander. Zukunft presented the Kimball Award to the station crew after they earned a 90-percent or greater during a weeklong inspection. Evaluators inspect the condition of vessels and survival systems readiness, test for performance of underway drills and examine unit-training programs.
