A member of the Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) company sets a cannon, powered by propane, to scare birds away from oiled back watered areas along the Mississippi River bank here Sunday, July 27, 2008.

The purpose of setting cannons is to divert birds from feeding in oiled areas and move them to clean areas.
