    Groton, Conn. (Jan. 14, 1999) -- Entrance to the former location of the Coast Guard R&D Center in the University of Connecticut Avery Campus in Groton, Conn. After 37 years here, the Center will move to modern facilities at Fort Trumbull in New London, Conn., in 2008. The R&D Center is a Coast Guard resource for scientific knowledge and capabilities, providing innovative and adaptive research, development, testing, evaluation, analysis, and technology solutions for the maritime environment to enhance current and future asset acquisition and mission execution.
